A popular Kumasi-based VIP driver, Kwasi Borga, widely known as Borga 1, has agreed to pay GH¢40,000 as compensation to his girlfriend, Maame Serwaa, following a dispute over an alleged failed promise of marriage.

According to reports, Borga initially engaged Serwaa, a caterer, to cook for him on a regular basis. However, the situation later escalated into a personal dispute.

Serwaa in an interview on Oyerepa Afutuo, a show that addresses domestic issues, claims that Borga promised to marry her, which led her to make several commitments, including dedicating her time and consistently cooking for him.

“He made me believe I was going to be his wife, so I gave him my time, my effort and my full support,” she stated.

She further alleged that Borga has now moved on to another woman, leaving her feeling betrayed and used.

“Now he has taken another girlfriend. I feel cheated after everything I did for him,” she added.

Feeling wronged, Serwaa reportedly took the matter to a radio programme to seek redress.

However, Borga denied ever being in a romantic relationship with her, insisting that their interaction was strictly professional.

“There was no relationship. I only hired her to cook for me, nothing more,” he maintained.

After deliberations on the show, the matter was resolved with Borga agreeing to compensate Serwaa with GH¢40,000.

He has already paid GH¢20,000 and promised to settle the remaining GH¢20,000 at a later date.
