The Ghana Police Service has arrested Daniel Odai Afotey in connection with a housebreaking and theft incident at Spintex, Accra.

On March 14, 2026, UTV Ghana shared a viral post on their official page on Facebook announcing the arrest, which followed a report on March 4, 2026.

In that earlier report, a resident discovered that her home had been unlawfully entered into.

According to police reports, a total of GH₵1,000 and $22,350 were stolen, along with other valuables.

Acting on intelligence, officers apprehended Afotey at Labone Beach on March 11, 2026.

A search of Afotey’s room led to the recovery of the stolen cash, as well as several other suspected stolen items, including gold watches, jewelry, mobile phones, and a television set.

The arrest and recovery have been widely reported, with a video showcasing the recovered items and the suspect.

The suspect is currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing.
