Speaker Alban Bagbin has assured that Parliament will fully support investigations into the tragic aircraft crash that claimed the lives of two brothers, Captain Frank Amoaning Donkor and Elijah Donkor.

The accident occurred on March 16, 2026, when the aircraft reportedly lost altitude and crashed at the Oninku Drive School Park in Tema, killing both occupants and leaving pupils and staff in the vicinity shaken.

Speaking during a funeral service held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra on March 28, Bagbin said Parliament would back all efforts aimed at determining the cause of the crash and preventing similar incidents in the future.

“Parliament is committed to ensuring that every necessary step is taken to uncover what led to this tragedy and to help avert such occurrences going forward,” he stated. “At this difficult time, we must stand together in unity, show compassion, and draw strength from one another.”

He described the incident as a profound national loss and stressed the importance of prioritising safety.

“With a heavy heart, I pay tribute to our compatriots—two brothers whose lives were cut short in the Tema crash. This painful event has not only claimed two lives but has also taken away a bond that reflected unity, love, and family,” he said.

Bagbin noted that the loss of both brothers at once is deeply devastating, not only for their family but for the entire nation.

“On behalf of Parliament, I extend our deepest sympathies to the bereaved family. We grieve with you, we stand in solidarity with you, and we share in your sorrow. This is a loss for the whole nation,” he added.
