Mornah said he shares a longstanding relationship with John Boadu dating back to their days in youth leadership.
“John and I share a longstanding relationship forged during our years in youth leadership,” he said.
According to him, the two worked together to establish the Inter-Party Youth Advisory Committee (IPYC), through which they undertook initiatives aimed at promoting political dialogue, cooperation and peaceful coexistence.
He said their work demonstrated that political differences should not prevent individuals from contributing to Ghana’s development.
“Those efforts built enduring friendships and affirmed that political differences need never prevent us from working together for Ghana,” Mornah stated.
He expressed confidence in Boadu’s ability to lead the NPP, citing his experience and progression through the ranks of the party.
“His rise through the ranks of the NPP to the national chairmanship comes as no surprise to me,” he said.
“Having gone through the mill, he understands the weight of the responsibility he now carries. I trust that he will bring maturity, experience and a spirit of cooperation to his new role,” he added.
Mornah also congratulated former Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey, popularly known as Titus-Glover, on his election as National Organiser.
“I also warmly congratulate Titus-Glover on his election as National Organiser. His energy, campaigning experience and commitment to grassroots mobilisation will serve him well,” he said.
The PNC Leader said the relative youth and energy of the new NPP executive team could contribute positively to Ghana’s democratic development.
He stressed that Ghana needs “a strong, credible and constructive opposition that holds government accountable, offers practical alternatives and places citizens’ welfare at the centre of national debate.”
Mornah further assured that the PNC would work with political actors whose ideas promote national development.
“Where our convictions meet, let us cooperate with purpose; where they differ, let us engage with respect,” he said.
He concluded by urging the new NPP leadership to work towards strengthening Ghana’s democratic institutions and advancing the interests of citizens.
