President John Dramani Mahama has paid a visit to former President John Agyekum Kufuor at his residence to check on his well-being and discuss issues of national and international importance.

In a post on his official Facebook page on Monday, October 19, 2026, Mahama said the visit was to find out how the former president was doing and exchange views on developments in Ghana and beyond.

“I passed by the residence of President JA Kufuor this afternoon to check on him and find out how he’s doing and also discuss some national and international issues,” he wrote.

The visit highlights an engagement between the two leaders, who have both served as presidents of Ghana.

Mahama, who is serving his second non-consecutive term as president, succeeded Kufuor’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in January 2009 after winning the 2008 presidential election.

Kufuor served as president from 2001 to 2009.
