A ghastly accident on the Peki Tsame road in the Volta Region has claimed the life of one person leaving 16 others with varying degrees of injuries.
The incident occurred after the tyre of a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number GT 7012-24 burst, causing the vehicle to somersault.
In a Facebook post on February 13, 2026, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said personnel from the Peki Fire Station, led by ADO I Godwin Gbedemah, swiftly responded to the accident and have rescued the trapped victims.

“The injured passengers, made up of eight males, seven females and one child, were handed over to the National Ambulance Service and transported to the Peki Government Hospital for treatment,” the statement shared on the GNFS Facebook page on Friday, February 13, 2026, stated.
The GNFS disclosed that one of the victims later died at the hospital, while others are reportedly in stable condition.
