Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Afigya Sekyere East have defended the Member of Parliament for the area, Mavis Nkansah-Boadu, over her absence from the enstoolment ceremony of Agonamanhene.
The executives said she was duly represented at the ceremony and that her absence in person should not be interpreted as a deliberate disregard for Agonamanhene or the Agona Traditional Stool.
In a statement dated October 23, 2026, the executives explained that party executives, family members, the former District Chief Executive and the Presiding Member of the Sekyere South Municipal Assembly attended the ceremony on her behalf.
They added that drinks, water, schnapps and other items were presented during the enstoolment as gestures of goodwill and respect.
“Her absence in person should therefore not be interpreted as a deliberate disregard for Agonamanhene or the Agona Traditional Stool,” the statement said.
The executives further disclosed that Nkansah-Boadu had made two separate attempts to visit Agonamanhene after the enstoolment to pay her respects, but both attempts had been unsuccessful.

They also vouched for the MP’s character and integrity, emphasising her respect for traditional authority and customary practices.
“Having worked closely with Hon. Mavis Nkansah-Boadu for several years, we can confidently vouch for her character, integrity, respect for humanity, and deep regard for tradition and customary authority,” it stated.
On the MNB Inter-Senior High School Football Tournament, the executives described it as a laudable youth development initiative into which the MP had invested substantial financial resources.
According to them, the tournament was organised not only to provide recreational activities for young people but also to showcase their football talents to scouts from across the world and create opportunities for their future development.
The executives reiterated their respect for Agonamanhene and traditional leaders in the constituency, acknowledging their role in preserving cultural heritage, promoting peace and advancing community development.
They reaffirmed their support for Nkansah-Boadu and pledged to maintain cordial relations with Agonamanhene and the Agona Traditional Council in the interest of peace, unity and development.
