A lecturer at Wisconsin International University College, Dr Hayford Yeboah, has raised concerns over what he describes as the inaction of state institutions following corruption allegations made by the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus.
According to a report by metrotvonline.com on Monday, April 13, 2026, Dr Yeboah warned that the continued silence from authorities risks eroding public confidence in the country’s fight against corruption.
The allegations, which have circulated widely on social media for nearly a week, suggest that some government appointees may have acquired state properties under questionable circumstances.
Dr Yeboah questioned why no official steps have been taken since the claims surfaced, noting that there has been no known invitation extended to A Plus to assist with investigations.
“This video has been in the social media landscape for more than a week now and there is no reaction,” he said.

He argued that state security agencies, particularly the police, have a duty to act even when allegations emerge from informal channels such as social media.
“The police should react. You hear some of these rumours on air, on social media but look on,” he stated, stressing that such claims should not be dismissed outright.
While acknowledging that some may treat the allegations ‘with a pinch of salt,’ Dr Yeboah maintained that the nature of the claims require at least preliminary scrutiny to establish the facts.
He warned that failure to act promptly could create the impression that institutions are either unwilling or unable to address suspected wrongdoing involving public officials.
Dr Yeboah further noted that corruption concerns in Ghana often gain traction when there is a visible gap between public officials’ known incomes and their lifestyles.
“Within a short period of time, we see them, in terms of material possession, there’s a wide variation and it becomes suspicious,” he said.
