It is voting day in the Ayawaso East Constituency of the Greater Accra Region.
This bye-election has been occasioned following the death of the sitting Member of Parliament, Naser Toure Mahama, who was a four-term legislator of the area.
Since then, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has held a primaries to elect its candidate for the election, eventually settling on Baba Jamal, a former MP for Akwatia and former High Commissioner of Ghana to Nigeria.
On the other side of the political divide, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Baba Ali Yussif received a unanimous endorsement of his party to represent them in the polls of March 3, 2026.
