The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has been re-elected to the position after defeating four other contenders in the race.

Justin Kodua polled 4,486 votes to retain his position as General Secretary.

His closest contender, Sylvester Tetteh, a former Deputy Minister of Information and former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro Constituency, polled 1,300 votes.

The election forms part of the NPP’s efforts to elect a new set of national executives to lead the party as it reorganises ahead of the 2028 general elections.

More than 7,000 delegates from across the country participated in the election as the party seeks to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The election was held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Delivering a speech on behalf of all the elected executives, the newly elected National Chairman, John Boadu, called on members of the party to unite and work together to recapture political power in the upcoming elections.
