Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed confidence in the party’s leadership, saying John Boadu’s experience will be crucial to its efforts to return to power in the 2028 elections.
According to Dr Bawumia, John Boadu helped the NPP win power in 2016 when he served as General Secretary, and he believes he can play a similar role ahead of the 2028 polls.
“I am very confident that winning the chairmanship for the NPP is a sign that this party is going to come back to power in 2028. John has done it before when he was General Secretary; he brought us back to power, and I believe by the grace of God he will bring us back to power,” he said.
Dr Bawumia was speaking at a birthday celebration for John Boadu.
He acknowledged, however, that the party’s anticipated success would depend on the commitment and hard work of its leadership and members.
He urged party members to remain united and dedicated to the NPP’s cause, stressing that unity would be essential to its efforts ahead of the 2028 elections.
“We all have to work very hard and keep the unity in this party. Unity will take us to victory. Let us stay together and make sure we win for the sake of Ghana,” he added.
