I have paused on making public prophetic declarations on national, political matters - ElBernard

The Head Pastor of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, has announced a temporary withdrawal from making public prophetic declarations, particularly on national and political matters, following the failure of his prophecy on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

The prophet had earlier predicted, through a book, videos, and media interviews, that former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, would win the NPP flagbearership race, a prophecy that did not materialise.

Prophet ElBernard apologises after failed election prophecy

In an accountability statement released after a public apology on January 31, 2026, Prophet ElBernard said he had taken the decision “in humility and accountability” after reflecting on the prophetic declarations he made about the NPP primaries.

“Following my recent public apology concerning the prophetic declarations I made about the New Patriotic Party presidential primaries, I have, in humility and accountability, chosen to take a short and intentional pause from making public prophetic declarations particularly those related to national and political matters,” he shared on Facebook.

According to him, the step is not a retreat from his calling but a conscious effort to strengthen accountability, integrity, and discernment in his ministry.

He said the pause would allow him time for prayer, counsel, and deep reflection.

"In the same spirit of responsibility, I have also decided to step back for a season from public teaching, preaching, and pulpit ministry. This is a deliberate and voluntary step to allow for reflection, prayer, counsel, and the strengthening of accountability in how prophetic revelations are received, interpreted, and communicated.

"I am not stepping away from my calling or from ministry altogether. I remain committed to personal prayer, study, and quiet pastoral responsibility, while intentionally realigning myself in growth, integrity, and discernment," he added.

He further stated that; “I value the trust of the people I serve, and I do not take it lightly. I sincerely appreciate your prayers, patience, and understanding during this season.”

The January 31 NPP primaries saw former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerge as the winner in a landslide victory over his four contenders, securing support across all regions.
