The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has confirmed the death of 53-year-old Ghanaian pilgrim Musah Sidi in Mecca.
Sidi collapsed while performing the Tawaf ritual, a central Hajj rite involving the circumambulation of the Kaaba at the Grand Mosque and died shortly afterward.
The PAOG has formally notified the deceased pilgrim's family. In accordance with Islamic tradition, arrangements are underway to prepare the body for Janaza prayers, which will take place after Jumu’ah prayers, followed by burial.
In its official statement, the PAOG noted that Islamic tradition promises immense spiritual honor in the hereafter for pilgrims who pass away while in a state of worship and wearing the Ihram.
The Office extended its condolences to Sidi's family, friends, and fellow pilgrims.
