Four people have died, while several others sustained injuries following a fatal head-on collision at Akyem Anyinasin Junction on the Accra-Kumasi Highway in Ghana’s Eastern Region.

The crash, which occurred at about 5:30 a.m. today, involved a Voxy van bearing registration number 9430-26 and a trailer with registration number GS 4064-26.


Preliminary information indicates that two Voxy vans were allegedly overtaking each other when one of the vehicles collided head-on with the approaching trailer, leading to the fatal accident.


The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Kyebi Government Hospital Morgue, while the injured victims have been taken for medical treatment.

The Police have begun investigations to determine the exact circumstances that led to the crash.
