An engineer in the Tatale-Sanguli District has died after being attacked by a swarm of bees while supervising road construction works under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
A report by citinewsroom.com on June 2, 2026, indicated that the incident occurred on Monday, June 1, 2026, along the Tatale-Sanguli road where workers were actively engaged in construction activities.
"A swarm of bees suddenly emerged and attacked members of the road construction team, forcing workers to flee in different directions," eyewitnesses recounted.

However, the engineer was reportedly unable to escape the attack and sustained multiple stings before collapsing at the scene.
He was rushed to the Tatale Hospital by personnel from the National Ambulance Service but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The District DRIP Coordinator confirmed the incident, noting that the engineer was alone at the exact spot when the swarm struck.
The body has since been deposited at the Yendi Municipal Hospital morgue pending investigation into his death.
