Members of the Ejisu Municipal Assembly have renewed calls for the removal of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Jerryne Asante, giving President John Dramani Mahama a one-week ultimatum to act on their concerns over her administration, according to a citinewsroom.com report.
The Assembly Members announced their decision on Friday, October 16, 2026, accusing the MCE of disregarding Assembly resolutions, mishandling municipal affairs and failing to address concerns raised against her leadership.
Speaking at a press conference, the group's spokesperson, George Kuntu Blankson, who represents the Kwamo Electoral Area, alleged that Asante was involved in questionable administrative practices, including the issuance of a fraudulent building permit receipt in collaboration with the Municipal Head of Works.
He further accused her of using her official vehicle to facilitate alleged extortion by the Municipal Engineer, attempting to transfer the Municipal Finance Officer and failing to tackle worsening sanitation conditions in the municipality.

The Assembly Members said their concerns were linked to what they described as repeated interference with decisions taken by the Assembly.
They cited disagreements over the enforcement of a High Court order for the demolition of a building encroaching on a road at Achiakrom and the removal of laterite dumped on a wetland along the River Baffoe on the Ejisuman Senior High School road.
According to the group, the issues were first raised at a press conference on July 24, 2026, when they accused the MCE of failing to take the necessary action and called for her resignation or replacement within one week.
However, they said the absence of a satisfactory response more than two months after their initial appeal had compelled them to renew their demand and seek the President's intervention.
“More than two months after our press conference, no action has been taken. This means that both the MCE and the president do not take the resolution of the assembly members seriously,” Blankson said.
The Assembly Members warned that the continued failure to address their grievances was undermining their authority and worsening relations between the elected representatives and the municipal administration.
