The Effiduase Circuit of the Ghana Education Service in the New Juaben North Municipality has launched the Effiduase Circuit Teacher Prize 2026, an initiative aimed at recognising and rewarding exceptional teachers who are making a significant impact in the classroom and within their communities.

The award scheme, themed “Teaching: The Cornerstone of Education,” seeks to highlight the vital role teachers play in shaping the future of children and strengthening community development.

Teachers within the Effiduase Circuit are described not only as educators but also as mentors, role models, and community leaders who help nurture the next generation of responsible citizens.

The initiative is designed to identify and celebrate teachers who demonstrate excellence through innovative teaching methods, the promotion of critical thinking among pupils and strong engagement with parents and the wider community.

Organisers say recognising such dedication will motivate teachers and help elevate the status of the teaching profession within the community.
“Recognition is a powerful motivator.

While national policies address systemic issues such as training and leadership, communities also have an important role to play in ensuring teachers feel valued and appreciated,” organisers noted.

As part of the initiative, corporate organisations, philanthropists, and community

stakeholders are being invited to support the programme through sponsorships and partnerships.

The support will primarily go towards prize packages for outstanding teachers as well as the organisation of a grand awards ceremony to celebrate winners and highlight their contributions to education.

Education stakeholders behind the initiative believe that investing in teachers has far-reaching benefits for society.

They argue that motivated and well-supported teachers help create more engaging classrooms, improve student attendance and academic performance, and encourage parents to play a more active role in supporting schools.

Such efforts, they say, could also inspire communities to mobilise resources to improve school infrastructure, including teacher accommodation and classroom facilities.

Speaking on the initiative, Philip Omane Yeboah said the Effiduase Circuit Teacher Prize is more than just an award scheme, describing it as a community-driven effort to promote quality education and inspire future educators.

He called on individuals, institutions, and corporate bodies to support the initiative and help build a lasting legacy that values both education and the teachers who make it possible.

He expressed confidence that the Effiduase Circuit Teacher Prize 2026 will become a landmark initiative within the municipality, celebrating excellence in teaching while reinforcing the importance of education in community development.
