An Accra High Court has reviewed the bail conditions of NPP activist and TikToker, Mahama Aminat, reducing her bail from GH¢1 million with three sureties to GH¢500,000 with two sureties.

The court also removed an earlier condition requiring her to deposit her passport.

This was disclosed by her lawyer, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, after the hearing of an application seeking a variation of the bail conditions on May 26, 2026.

Speaking after proceedings, the lawyer confirmed that the court granted their request.

“The application for variation was heard today, and the court has granted it as prayed. The court has now varied the previous bail conditions, and so the new conditions are that the bail is now in the sum of GH¢500,000,” he said.

He explained that the number of sureties had also been reduced while the passport condition was completely removed.

“The previous requirement for her to deposit the passport has now been removed by the court, and then the sureties previously were three; now the court has reduced them to two,” he stated.

However, the court maintained that part of the earlier conditions requiring Mahama Aminat to report regularly to investigators.

“Except that the court still requires her to report to the investigator twice a week, on Monday and Friday,” he added.

The lawyer indicated that although they were not fully satisfied with that aspect of the ruling, they would comply for now while considering another application.

“I think that we're not too particularly happy with that part of the condition, but I think we can make do with it for now. As time goes on, we'll apply for a variation of that part of the bail condition,” he said.

Mahama Aminat was arrested over alleged threats against President John Dramani Mahama in a TikTok video that circulated on social media.
