On Easter Saturday, Asamankese came alive with a sea of bright shirts and smiling faces as youth, elders, traditional leaders, and security personnel joined forces for a community-wide health walk.

The Easter Fest Health Walk, organised by the Me Boafo Foundation, was aimed at promoting physical wellbeing, social cohesion, and preventive healthcare.

The event was led by the Founder and Executive Director, Dr Emmanuel Obiri Addo, and featured fitness sessions, nutrition education, and free health screenings held at the forecourt of BeKind Supermarket.

Speaking at the event, Dr Emmanuel Addo emphasised the importance of accessible fitness:

“This walk demonstrates that a simple activity like walking, when done together, can transform lives and build stronger communities.”

Security agencies, including the Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service, and Ghana Revenue Authority Customs Division, participated actively, marching alongside residents to show support and reinforce community collaboration.

A representative from one of the agencies noted:

“Our role goes beyond enforcement. Engaging in community health activities helps us build trust and promote a safer, healthier society.”

The Foundation provided full logistical support, including water stations, first-aid points, and a mobile clinic staffed by medical professionals from Asamankese Government Hospital.

The turnout exceeded expectations, with over 1,500 participants. Dr Emmanuel Addo expressed satisfaction with the response:

“The enthusiasm we witnessed today shows that the community is ready to embrace healthier lifestyles. This is just the beginning—we aim to make this a consistent initiative.”

Co-Founder Dr Maxwell Okpoti Mensah also expressed appreciation to all sponsors and members of the Foundation for their dedication and commitment to the success of the programme.
