A group of unidentified armed gang reportedly stormed a health facility at Assin Wurakese in the Central Region and attacked a patient who was receiving treatment for a machete wound.
According to multiple online reports, the incident followed a violent confrontation between an individual and a couple.
The incident reportedly caused fear and panic among the health workers at the facility, and they have threatened to withdraw their services.
"An armed group reportedly stormed the facility and assaulted a patient who was undergoing treatment for machete wounds, prompting the staff to fear for their own lives and security while on duty.

"The workers have warned that they may abandon their posts if adequate protection measures are not put in place", an X post by Caleb Qwofi Right on Thursday, January 15, 2026, stated.
One of the victims, Daniel, suffered severe cuts to his arm and was the first to seek urgent medical attention at the facility.
Shortly afterwards, Yaw Buabeng, bleeding heavily from injuries to his head and hand, also arrived at the centre for treatment.

As nursing staff began attending to Buabeng, a group of approximately ten young men, armed with machetes, sticks, and clubs, stormed the premises.
The attackers reportedly beat Buabeng into a coma, forcing the nursing staff to flee in fear for their safety and leaving the facility unattended.
