Ghana's Apostolic Fathers have issued a declaration in support of President John Dramani Mahama, praising his stance on cultural values and sovereignty after a U.S. university withdrew an honorary degree.
In a statement signed by Bishop Dr Gideon Titi-Ofei on behalf of 18 Apostolic Fathers, the group commended Mahama for his "principled stance against the promotion of LGBTQI+ ideologies" and his commitment to Ghana's legislative process.
Lincoln University in Pennsylvania reportedly withdrew the honorary doctorate, citing "additional information" but did not provide details.
The Fathers' declaration described Mahama's leadership as "a reflection of courage, quiet yet unyielding, firm yet measured, and principled yet respectful."
