The body of a young man, believed to be in his twenties, has been discovered in a drain at Aboabo in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

According to a report by citinewsroom.com, the discovery was made on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Sumaila Dauda, a Unit Committee Member for the area, told Citi News that the victim’s body may have been deliberately dumped in the drain.

He described the incident as alarming, noting that similar occurrences have happened in the area before.

“Someone informed me about the situation, so I rushed to the scene. Looking at the body, it appears the person was beaten to death. The police have since taken the body to the morgue,” he said.

The report further confirmed that the body has been deposited at the morgue, and investigations have begun to determine the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death.

“The body has been conveyed to the morgue, and authorities have begun investigations to establish the circumstances of the young man’s death,” the report added.
