Agent denies Barcelona interest in Acheampong

Ghana’s sensational winger has excelled with Belgian giants Anderlecht this season which has attracted interest from top clubs but his agent has played down reports suggesting the youngster is on the verge of signing for Spanish giants Barcelona.

Barcelona, Juventus, AS Roma, Marseille and Bordeaux are among the club reported to be interested in signing the player from Anderlecht.

The reported interest in the Ghana star has come in the wake of his performances in the UEFA Champions League and the Belgian top-flight where he is recognised as one of the league’s best players.

Despite these reports of clubs interested in the Ghana star his agent Oliver Konig of Lion Hearts Players Management says some of the reports have been blown out of proportion.

“I cannot say in detail which clubs are interested, but Frank has been linked with many clubs in recent weeks. Some of these rumours are not too reliable,” Konig said.

“Frank is very proud and happy that he plays football for Anderlecht. They gave him his chance and he is very happy and proud about it. He will leave the club only if they decide to sell him.”
