Herbert Addo: I can’t afford to lose Atinga

Hearts of Oak’s manager, Herbert Addo is still hoping he will win the battle to include Dwarfs’ defender, Prince Atinga in his squad ahead of the next football season.

The Hearts Board (Recruitment Committee) will make a late decision whether to grant Herbert Addo’s request to bring in the strong centre back from Dwarfs.

Herbert Addo says he prefers Prince Atinga to Nuru Sulley but his decision has been met by fierce opposition from a section of the club’s board members who are insisting that they will prefer the return of Nuru Sulley and not the signing of Prince Atinga who has already completed his medicals with the club and commenced training with the Hearts team.

Herbert Addo says he is expecting that Atinga’s deal will be completed before the transfer window closes this month. “It will probably be a late decision because there are few issues I have to thrash out with the management. If Atinga is part of my team, that will delight me, but until then, I have to wait and see what happens. Atinga will bring a different quality to the team, he is a player who is fast and has a good record in defence. He is a difficult guy for strikers to deal with so we need him to solidify our defence”.

“We knew other teams were interested in him so I am very happy he finally chose Hearts. He is a quality player. He has shown his qualities on the highest level possible. He will bring quality to the team and raise the level of the defenders”.
