Kissi unsurprised about Mazembe interest

For years, Richard Kissi Boateng has been patient in his development as a left back, and so he is now not surprised about the heavily rumoured interest from TP Mazembe. He, however, says there has been no official confirmation to him.
"In life you need to step a step forward. So for me travelling outside the country will not be something new for me. I've already tasted it and i know how it is, so I will say it will be for my work done all these years," he told Citi FM.
The player knows what plying the trade outside Ghana entails. After an unsuccessful stint in Libya for Al-Ittihad Club Tripoli, Boateng returned to Ghana and Berekum Chelsea. From week 7 of last season, he was first choice at left-back and his performances have been consistent and highly impressive.
A disciplined workaholic of a player with bravery and aggression, he loves to join the attack on overlapping runs. Boateng, who scored one league goal during the previous season, broke through at Liberty Professionals.
"I have heard [of the impending move to Mazembe], that this is what is going on. But I don't know whether it is true or not," the player, as softspoken as ever, said on Thursday. He was sure to discuss the issue with Chelsea owner, Emmanuel Kyeremeh before the weekend ends.
"The big men have not told me anything about it. The chairman is in Accra and he will return to Berekum on Friday and that's when I'm going to find out if it is true or not."
Richard Kissi Boateng has developed into one of the best left-backs in the local league and played a pivotal role in Chelsea’ surge in the Caf Champions League. His performances in that position earned him a debut call into Ghana’s national team for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho Zambia in June.
The deal for the player will reportedly be worth $500,000, subject to a successful batch of medicals next week.
