Fred Crentsil: No Mahatma business with Kotoko

Accra Hearts of Oak
are adamant they will not sell striker Mahatma Otoo to rivals Asante Kotoko at
any price, CEO of the club Fred Crenstil has exclusively told 90 MINUTES.
The Kumasi club have apparently earmarked Mahtama
Otoo as their number one transfer target for the upcoming season with Porcupine
Warriors bigwigs keen on convincing the prolific goal hitter to spearhead their
challenge for both the domestic league and African Champions’ League.
Hearts have been firm
in their resistance so much their chief insists not even a reported GH¢2
billion bid being prepared by Kotoko could sway their decision. With the player
only having extended his contract by four years only last season, Fred Crenstil
told 90 MINUTES on Wednesday afternoon that the player won’t move to Kumasi
“I have nothing to
tell you about Mahatma Otoo. We’ve written to Kotoko to tell them already that
the player is not available. So I don’t think we have anything to discuss
regarding the player. He is not available at any price,” he told us.
Mr. Crenstil also
reacted to reports that they have not contacted Edwin Osei Pele, the Hearts
striker who went out on loan to Aduana Stars for the second round of last
season.
“He went out on loan
so what is he saying that we have not contacted him? We sent him out on loan
and he still has a contract with us so he just has to revert back to the club,”
Mr. Crenstil said.
