Hearts of Oak continue talks over Baffour

Footy-ghana.com understands that talks are still on-going between former champions Hearts of Oak and New Edubiase United over the potential transfer of the Premier League’s leading scorer Emmanuel Baffour.

According to well-placed sources, the move will hinge on whether Baffour will make it into Ghana’s final 23-man squad for the 2012 African nations Cup, and indeed, the transfer will be imminent if he misses out.

Footy-ghana.com investigations reveal that New Edubiase United initially quoted GH¢100,000 (¢ 1 billion) as the price tag, whilst Baffour himself initially asked for a signing on fee of GH¢40,000 (¢400 million).

Footy-ghana.com can also confirm that Baffour, who wants to play for Hearts of Oak, once offered himself to the Phobians whilst with Tema Youth, but he was not considered good enough then.

11 goals in 12 matches this season has brought him into the limelight and footy-ghana.com sources reveal that the Board of Directors of Hearts of Oak, led by Togbe Afede XIV is determined to nab the striker for Hearts of Oak in the second round.
