Mensah Keen On Premiership Move

Ghanaian international defender John Mensah has expressed his desire to make a move to the English Premiership after this season, with Portsmouth FC reportedly being interested in signing the 25-year-old player.

Mensah has been on the radar of Rremiership side Reading for quite some time now, but only recently has Harry Redknapp reportedly added the player to his shortlist.

Mensah, who is currently contracted to French Ligue 1 side Rennes, told The Sun newspaper that he would love to join a Premiership side.

Portsmouth seems a very likely choice as he looks to link up with fellow Ghanaian Sulley Muntari and former Rennes teammate John Utaka.

"I would be happy to join him (Utaka). I think it is a good place for an African player," Mensah told the newspaper.

"In the past Reading spoke about me and I know they are still interested.

"But with Portsmouth joining the picture it has made it even more interesting.

"They are not the only top English club keen on me."
