Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has joined Norwegian powerhouse Rosenborg BK, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 28-year-old has joined the Troillongan after spending two years at Major Soccer League side Portland Timbers.

Kwarasey is making a return to Norway where he won the league title with Stromsgodset two years ago.

The experienced shot-stopper has opted to join Rosenborg BK in a move which will surprise many fans.

The Ghana international impressed heavily during his debut season in the MLS and won the crown with Portland Timbers.

But the West African has struggled with injuries since the start of the new season.

It's unclear what prompted his decision to return to Norway.

Kwarasey was Ghana's first choice keeper in the African Cup of Nations in 2012 and started the first game against the United States during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in June.

Domestically he made 167 appearances in all competitions, conceded 232 goals, posted 40 shutouts and won the Norwegian league's 2013 goalkeeper of the year.

Kwarasey has competed for Norwegian club Strømsgodset since 2007, making 154 appearances for the club during that time.

The 26-year-old was born in Norway to a Ghanaian father and Norwegian mother. He has earned 21 caps with the Ghana National Team since 2011.
