Ben Koufie not hurt by Black Stars technical adviser snub

Ex Ghana FA boss Ben Koufie insists he is not disappointed by his exclusion from the running to become the new technical adviser of the Black Stars.

The 82-year-old is reported to have been nominated by coach Kwesi Appiah for the new technical role being created for the Ghana national team.

The Ghana FA is however said to have declined Appiah’s nomination – citing Koufie’s age as reason.

Four expatriate coaches have since been shortlisted for the post including former Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac for the expected lucrative job.

Koufie, who serves as a CAF instructor however says he is not bothered by his omission from the running for the job.

“Well, if that is what they want then so be it,” he said.

“I am not disappointed at all.”

The Ghana FA is expected to make announce the appointment somewhere next week.
