New Edubiase United striker Bernard Don Bortey has been fined GHS500 for insulting a Ghana Premier League match commissioner.
The incident occurred during Edubiase’s third-week game against Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium of which the Porcupine Warriors won by a lone goal.
Bortey rained foul language on the official in the tunnel when reserve players were ordered to head to the bench.
The former Ghana Under-17 talisman is not new to controversy as over a year ago he was handed a one year ban for assaulting a referee during Aduana Stars MTN FA Cup game with King Solomon on January 12, 2012.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak forward has failed to reach his full potential due to his bad disciplinary records.
Meanwhile, five New Edubiase players aside Bortey have also been fined a combined fee of GHS5,000 for assaulting the referee in the course of that game.
