Utility player Rahim Ayew has stated that he offered Hearts of Oak every opportunity to sign him, but they failed to and now close to sealing a deal with Asante Kotoko.
The son of Ghana football legend, Abedi Pele, is back in Ghana after a two-year stay in Belgium where he featured for Jupiler league side Lierse
“I gave Hearts of Oak every opportunity, chance and time to sign me but they did not,” Ayew told Accra-based Happy FM.
“There is absolutely no problem with me joining Kotoko because even Willian had his Tottenham Hotspurs medicals and 24 hours later he was at Chelsea training grounds at Cobham agreeing a deal.”
Ayew added: “Kotoko have been pursuing me since 2009 and this is the time to say, Yes, to them and I am very happy to play for them. I will contribute my maximum for the team to make it big in the league and also in Africa.”
The former Wise and Zamalek player had his Kotoko medicals on Thursday.
