My words were taken out of context - Yaw Preko

Former Ghana international Yaw Preko says comments attributed to him to the effect that ‘we are all cheats’ with regard to age cheating have been taken out of context.

He told footy-ghana.com that what he meant to say was that age cheating was practiced by almost all countries worldwide, adding that it was never his intention to single out Ghana in particular.

‘I played for Ghana at almost every level. I would never deliberately soil Ghana’s reputation like that. I meant to say that countries all over the world practice age-cheating, so my comments were not centered on Ghana alone.’

Preko has come under increasing fire for an earlier interview he granted liquidsportsghana.com on the issue.
