Appiah opens door for dropped players

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah said there is hope for the sextet that he initially dropped for his maiden squad in charge.

He said it was a tough call for him, but at the end of the day decisions have to be made.

The affected six players are: Wa All Stars goalkeeper Robert Dabuo, Genoa defender Masawudu Alhassan, Ebusua Dwarfs' Rashid Sumaila, Solomon Asante, Servette's Ishamel Yartey and Emmanuel Baffour.

Appiah praised the six players for their performance and commitment during the six-day training session.

"I want to thank all my players, especially the six who are not part of the final team for their performance and dedication during our training sessions," Appiah told the Ghana FA website.

"It was a difficult decision to take because all the players did very well in training but the squad has to be named.

"I want to assure the six players that the doors of the national team are still open for them. They should continue to work hard as they could be considered in future."
