Nana Arhin Duah to Relaunch career

Contrary to speculations that former Asante Kotoko striker Nana ‘Obuanipa’ Arhin Duah has hanged his boots, he told “Where are they” on Happy FM that the reverse is the case. Nicknamed ‘Shaggy’, he told ‘Anopabosuo’ sports host Charles Osei Asibey in an interview a few days ago that circumstances beyond his reach necessitated his move to the United States of America. “I am currently in the US. I haven’t retired as speculated, I am still active and will cease any chance that presents itself to continue my soccer career, ” was his response to his long stay from the pitch. He admitted that he really enjoyed his stay with the Porcupine Warriors (Kotoko) where he hit the back of the net times without number. When Osei Asibey quizzed whether he was ‘worshiped’ during his playing days in the Garden City(Kumasi), he responded in the affirmative amid laughter. The former Ashgold forward revealed that one player who had a positive influence in his career both on and off the pitch was Godwin ‘Champion’ Ablordey, a former Kotoko captain during the Herber Mensah-led administration. “Ablordey really had a positive influence on my career during my days at Kotoko, but it was unfortunate he left some few months after I joined the team,’ added the Arhin Duah. He also stated that another player who inspired him to attach seriousness to the game was Kwadjo Poku ‘Mahala’ saying, “I admired him from afar because of his exceptional commitment to his play.” According to the former Black Stars player, he remembers vividly some spectacular goals he scored against Kotoko when he was with Ashgold.
