Asante Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu has tasked management of the club to sort out the contract situation of striker Sogne Yacouba because he will need and rely on the Burkinabe for the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

Yacouba’s contract is running out with the Porcupine Warriors with various attempts to tie the player to a long time deal yet to martialize.

But with the arrival of Maxwell Konadu as head coach, there is a new sense of optimism that Yacouba will be more than willing to stay with the Kumasi based club.

Konadu who has been tasked to win the 2019/20 Premier League season during his unveiling as Kotoko coach, admitted that the club will need Yacoub in an interview with the Kumasi based Fox FM.

“Normally every good player is wanted by a great club. He is not a bad player and since I came the little, I have heard is about attitude issues. But in football any issue can be resolved unless of course the club has taken a decision that it’s about time we stop following it”

“But then it is not a big issue, he is a fantastic player and he is in top form that a team like Kotoko will need his service, there is no doubt about that. All will depend on how the club will talk with the player,” he concluded.

Meanwhile Asante Kotoko will wrap up their pre-season preparation for the new league season when they travel to the Accra Sports Stadium for the 2019 Presidential Cup against Hearts of Oak.
