Referees integrity seminar starts at Kasoa ahead of new GPL season

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) integrity seminar for referees selected to officiate in the 2019/2020 season has begun at the Pentecost Convention Centre at Millennium City, Kasoa.

The four-day seminar which will end on December 13, 2019, will involve 311 referees and assistant referees attending the seminar to be led by renowned retired Mauritius referee Lim Kee Chong, who is Vice Chairman of the Referees Committee of CAF.

Lim Kee Chong is also a member of FIFA’s Referees Committee.

Present at the opening ceremony was Mark Addo who has urged the referees to strive for professionalism.

GFA vice president and business mogul, Mark Addo charged the referees to strive for professionalism ahead of the upcoming domestic season.

The football association in conjunction with FIFA is organizing a 3-day Integrity Seminar for 311 referees who will be officiating in the forthcoming 2019/20 season which kick starts this month.

Since the airing of the 'Number 12' video, referees in the country have had a dented image which the current football association is striving to eradicate and project them on top once.

The seminar is part of the GFA’s efforts to ensure that referees selected to officiate in the upcoming season uphold the integrity and other tenets of refereeing.

Meanwhile, there is an ongoing coaches workshop for Premier League Division One League and Women's Premier League coaches at the GFA Secretariat.
