Ghana has not qualified to the Olympics since 2004 Ghana has not qualified to the Olympics since 2004

Head Coach of Ghana’s U23 team, Ibrahim Tanko, says Ghana will conquer Group A for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics games qualifiers though the group opponents come with a lot of threats

The Black Meteors were drawn with host nation Egypt, Cameroon, and Mali in Group A for next month’s U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt from where the top three finishers advance to participate at the men’s football tournament at next year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Tanko who was present at the draw said, “Very tough group, but I am very sure we can overcome. I prefer this kind of group than the so-called easy group in competitions. ”

“With this group, you know the stakes are high. So you give your all from the beginning because all the teams are strong.”

“In all competitions, the first game is very important, and our first game will be against Cameroon, which I believe we can win.”

“What we need is good preparation before the start of the competition, and I hope the Ministry of Sports and the GFA will ensure we have good preparation. I am very confident we shall overcome the group,” he told the media.
