The midfielder believes his side's bright campaign in Serie A could earn them a spot in Europe's top competition next season.

Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan is hoping his Italian club Sassuolo qualify for next season's Uefa Champions League.

The Black and Greens are enjoying a fine start to the Serie A campaign, sitting just three points from the automatic slot to participate in Europe’s premier club competition.

"My dream? That's playing in the Champions League with Sassuolo next season. Which team does not want it. Squinzi wants us in the Champions League," Duncan told Corriere dello Sport.

“The president is ambitious and has prestigious goals. We are following him and we will try to do our best to satisfy him.

“That team had reached the peak, but this is at the beginning of a cycle," he said.

"We started very well but we want to improve and we are aware that we can do it. The signs so far have been good and we must insist on this path,” he added.

Duncan boasts of one goal in seven league appearances thus far this term.
