Cape Coast, Feb.8 GNA - The Central Region division two (zone one) sub middle league kicked off at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium at Cape Coast on Sunday.
Four teams Elmina Coconut Grove Sharks, Mankessim Mir FC, Eyisam Lumumba Stars and Real Moree United are participating in the week-long competition.
In the opening match, Coconut Sharks played a great game to beat Real Moree United 3-0.
Right from the beginning, Coconut Grove Sharks dominated the first half and scored the opener through midfielder, Ali Jamal, in the 23rd minute.
Real Moree United resumed strongly and piled pressure on their opponents for most part of the game but their hopes of drawing level with Sharks were shattered when Coconut banged in two rapid goals through inside right, Sulle Bawa and outside right, Dramani Abubakari, in the 80th and 89th minutes respectively.
In another encounter, Eyisam Lumumba Stars beat Mankessim Mir FC 2-1. James Beduson and Badia Aidoo scored for Lumumba Stars while Henry Sampson scored for Mir FC to bring the final scores to 2-1 in favour of Coconut Grove Sharks.
