Christians have been advised not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to cause mayhem before, during, and after the upcoming elections scheduled for November 7.
“We as Christians should be wiser this year and rather avail ourselves to God for Him to use us to propagate his word, while we pray for the peace of our nation,” Reverend Isaac Obed Asamoah, Head Pastor of the Gospel Faith Ministries, has said.
Preaching at the 31st Watch Night service in Accra, Rev Asamoah said Ghanaians should not forget the goodness of God towards the nation in spite of the many challenges they encountered in 2015.
He said God has many good things in store for His people, especially those who are prepared to live for Him and to proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in the New Year.
In his sermon on the theme:” Entering the Promised Land,” Exodus 3:7 to 17, Rev Asamoah said the Lord God who took the Israelites to their promised land, “flowing with milk and honey”, would also see Ghanaians through the year successfully if they would look up to him and be faithful to God.
He therefore advised Ghanaians to walk in the way of the Lord as they work harder in diligence.
He advised all those who are yet to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour to do so now to enable them enjoy the benefits of his goodness, faithfulness and salvation from destruction.
Rev Asamoah led members of the church who were all glad in white to pray for President John Mahama and all leaders of the nation including the political parties for a peaceful general election.
