Centrality of Churches must be gospel and Holy Spirit

Mr. Nathaniel Nunoo, Church Relations Officer of the Bible Society of Ghana, said the centrality of every church must be the word of God and the Holy Spirit.

He said: “I have seen churches, which started in school buildings with the word of God growing to become big churches, and I have witnessed churches that started in mansions and are now shopping malls because they failed to begin with God”.

Mr. Nunoo said these at a seminar, organized for pastors and leadership of the local council of churches within the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region, at Takoradi at the weekend.

The event preceded the celebration of the 2013 Bible Week, which is used to commemorate the goodness of God and the availability of the Bible, to enrich the lives of believers.

The theme for the celebration was: “The Bible and National Cohesion” and activities had been planned to promote unity among diverse Christian groups, teach the relevance of the scriptures and raise funds to support the Bible Society.

Mr. Nunoo said the group would intensify efforts to propagate the gospel to transform the lives of the people. The Bible Society, a non-denominational Christian organization, affiliated to the United Bible Society of the World, is made up of Christian volunteers.
