Christians urged to remain firm in their faith

Atimatim (Ash), May 31, GNA - Right Reverend Dr Sam Prempeh, former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), has encouraged Christians to remain firm in their faith, regardless of the challenges and difficulties that come their way. They should not expect things to be all savoury and smooth, as some "Men of God" would want them to believe, but must brace for the hard realities of life. There certainly would be trying moments. Rt. Rev Dr Prempeh was delivering the sermon at a service to celebrate the elevation of the Pankrono-Atimatim Presbyterian Church into district status.

"Empowered by the Holy Spirit" was the theme of his sermon. The former Moderator urged Christians to lead unblemished lives in order to become good examples to the rest of society. He counselled them to avoid acts that were likely to bring dishonour and create image problems for the church.

Rt. Rev Dr Prempeh also drew attention to the need for the church to step up its evangelism to turn people away from evil. He congratulated the Pankrono-Atimatim Church for working hard to attain its new position and reminded the congregation to prove equal to the responsibilities that go with it.

Rev Samuel Amaning, Minister in-charge of the District, said they would work hard to win more converts and save souls for Christ. He thanked the General Conference of the PCG for the elevation. The district comprises of Atimatim, Pankrono, Mamponteng, Fawoade, Medoma, Bampanase and Adwumakaase-Kese societies.
