Global Evangelical Church Women donate to Ho Leprosarium

The Women’s Ministry of the Global Evangelical Church has donated assorted items to the Schoonhoven Cured Lepers Village, also known as the Ho Leprosarium in the Volta Regional Capital, Ho.

The items included bag of maize, two 25 kilogram bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, mini bag of salt, ginger, fish and sugar.

Other items donated were 115 pieces of uniforms and walkers which were presented by Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur, wife of the Vice President, to the Women’s Ministry during the Fourth Women’s National Convention.

Presenting the items, Reverend Mrs Edith Adoblosu-Kuhlor, National Coordinator of the Women’s Ministry of the Church, said the donation was part of the social responsibility of the Ministry.

She said as mothers, women understand giving and expressed the hope that the items would be put to good use.

This is the third time the Women’s Ministry has donated items to the cured lepers. The first and second donations were made during the women’s previous conventions.

Mr Nelson Atito, Caretaker of the Village who received the items, expressed gratitude for the donation and appealed to other benevolent institutions and individuals to come to the aid of the cured lepers.

Mr Emmanuel Agbemade, a cured leper, on behalf of his colleagues, thanked the women.
