CASA Annual Congress Ends In Sunyani

Space FM,Sunyani, July 29 - The Four Day Annual B/A Territorial Congress of Christ Apostolic Students and Associates, (CASA), themed, "Maximixing Your Impact", ended on Sunday in the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital of Sunyani, with a call on students to use their knowledge, skill, strength and other God given talents to make positive impacts on the church and the society at large.

The congress attracted over 1,150 students from within and outside the church across the country and was adressed by several resource personalities including, the Education Director of the church, Apostle Percy Konotey, who spoke on the topics, "Called to Make an Impact" and "Living With Purpose", while the Director of the Children's Department of the church, Deacon Oraka Tettey, took the students through "Creation of Impact. A High Court Judge from Sunyani and a land economist from Kumasi spoke on "Academics" and "Entrepreneuship", respectively.The students were also taken through the history of the church and biography of past leaders.

Mr Kennedy Frimpong, Isaac Ofori Amanfo, Alexander Gyau, Daniel Okity Boamah, Ms Emelia Adu Henewaa, Samuel Ntiamoah Bennett and Eric Owusu, moderated the four day programme. The Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kwame Twumasi Awuah and other top officials attended the congress.

Seaking on the main topic, "Maximixing Your Impact", the Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church International, Apostle Sephen Kwami Amoani, challenged students to reactivate the hidden talents in them to enable them make positive impacts on the church and the nation.

He noted that as students they could have all the academic qualifications but if they do not strive to make any meaningful impact on the lives of others, they are useless.

Apostle Amoani said if students are to make any impact on society, they must know their indentity, understand that they are important and make themselves so and exhibit traits of positive impacts at all times. The chairman pointed out that they are people who do not know why they are where they are and so do not know how to impact on their communities.He added that there are also those who do not know why they are even studying or undertaking an activity in church.

He stressed that such people do not make any positive impact on people around them and urged students to go back to their communities after the congress and make a mark to glorify God. "Students of the Lord must know who they are to be able to impact positively on society", he said.He noted that if you do not know who you are, you run away from situations and thus face identity crises.

The Apostle challenged students to do away with excuses and use creative ways of overcoming obstacles.He urged students not to limit themselves to their small communities but enhance their the status to enable them compete and deliver globally.

The chairman of the Congress Planning Committee, Mr Eric Owusu, commended all committee members whose contribution helped in making the event a success.He said next year's congress would be an improvement on this year's and urged all CASA members to work at ensuring successful congresses in the future.
