Faisal sure of victory as they face Bofoakwa

Kumasi, Aug 17, GNA -- Alhaji Grunsah's King Faisal will be seeking to make amends following the unimpressive performance they exhibited in their recent friendlies as they clash against Bofoakwa Tano at the Sunyani Coronation Park in their opening match of the 2006/2007 One-Touch Premier League on Sunday.

Faisal recently drew 1-1 with Kessben FC and lost 1-2 to Kaaseman FC in friendly matches in which the two First Division sides surprisingly dominated in most parts of the game.

Even though Faisal came up with occasional brilliant moves in defence and midfield in the matches, the attack lacked the necessary bite and composure as they squandered many begging chances.

The team would therefore have to undoubtedly step up its performance as they face a determined Bofoakwa side in a match in which Faisal have a slight advantage over their opponents.

Faisal will be missing the services of their tried and tested players made up of Abubakari Yahuza, Habib Mohammed, Eric Gawu and Shilla Illiasu in this year's league, however, both players and officials of the team insist they have what it takes to face any opposition.

They also insist that their decision to adopt the Sunyani Coronation Park as their home grounds would not affect the team's performance.

'We see our move to Sunyani as a good omen since we have quite a number of fans who are committed to the team's cause=94, Ben Wilson, a player of Faisal told the GNA Sports in an interview in Kumasi ahead of their match.

Wilson urged supporters of the Club to resolve to rally solidly behind the team 93even in times of difficulties to facilitate the team's development and success'.

Mr George Amoako, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of King Faisal has also predicted a convincing win for his side on Sunday, saying, 93We will beat Bofoakwa to confirm our status in Ghana soccer=94. Speaking to newsmen, Mr Amoako was hopeful that the team will find worthy replacements to make up for the exit of some of their key players as the league commences. 17 Aug. 06
