Real Sportive Pip King Faisal

Tema Real Sportive defied a first half scare to beat Kumasi-based King Faisal 1-0 in their GT Onetouch Premier League match at the Tema Sports Stadium.

King Faisal who were determined to win the game to appease their fans as a result of their recent poor performance, mounted pressure when Referee John Listowel Zulevu of Akatsi signalled the two teams into action.

The visitors nearly went ahead in the 18th minute when Ben Wilson was put through but found his terrific shot saved by Sportive's goalie James Nannor.

Sportive who seemed undaunted gradually warmed themselves into the game and repulsed the attack of the visitors but also failed to find the net as their attack messed a clear scoring chance three minutes later. The two teams evenly fought gamely for the opener but none could find the net till the end of the first half.

Back from recess, the two teams raised their game plan in search of the opener that failed to materialise and when everything seemed to be pointing to a goalless drawn game, Sportive put up an extra effort and went ahead to net the only goal of the match in the 87th minute when Nuhu Alhassan who was in a good position to score was brought down heavily in the box.

Sam Enzemaba scored from the resultant kick to give his side the maximum three points.

Kwaku Essien of King Faisal was adjudged the Man of the Match.
