Kotoko Beat Bofoakwa

Kumasi Asante Kotoko won their game against Tano Bofoakwa in the Onetouch Premier League by 1- 0 at the Sunyani Coronation Park. Kotoko opened the scores through striker, Obeng Darko in the 27th. The striker skillfully dribbled past a defender and tapped the ball into the extreme left hand corner of the net, after being set up by Douglas Nkrumah.

Both sides played a very physical game throughout the 90th minutes, compelling Class One Referee, Charles Dowuona to flash yellow cards at players of both teams in a bid to stamp his authority on the game. Kotoko got another brilliant opportunity to increase the tally, but Douglas Nkrumah's header hit the crossbar in the 38th minute from a corner-kick.

Bofo managed to string passes beautifully together during most parts of the game, winning the applause of their fans but looked sluggish in finishing.

They tried lifting up their game after recess by piling up pressure on Kotoko throughout the second half, but were cut out by the ever alert defenders of Kotoko.

A goal by Nana Arhin Duah in the first minute of extra time was ruled off-side sending the fans screaming as they hurled bagged water at the officials to protest the decision.
