Hasaacas stuns Liberty

Accra, Nov 1, GNA 96 Visiting Sekondi Hasaacas stunned Liberty Professionals with a lone defeat in the eighth week Onetouch Premier League game played at the Karl Reindorf Park on Wednesday. Liberty had every opportunity kill the game in the first half but messed up the numerous scoring chances they created.

Hasaacas, playing to a strict tactical approach, got the opener five minutes into the second half from a swift combination between veteran John Ainoo and skilful Benjamin Sam Eliss.

This was after the visitors had survived an intense pressure from Liberty before counter attacking for Ainoo to lay the ball on the path of Ellis who raced deep into the half of the visitors before placing the ball behind keeper Nana Bonsu.

The duo, who contributed to the victory of Hasaacas developed a perfect partnership in the rest of the half with support from Benjamin Annan.

Ellis assumed the role of a tormentor in the Liberty defence but was on some occasions perfectly checked by David Addo. However the combination could not produce any more goals for the visitors, whilst Liberty had every opportunity to grab an equaliser in the dying minutes but were denied by series of inaccurate shooting and lack of concentration, as the score line remained 1-0 in favour of Hasaacas till referee G.K. Manu brought proceedings to an end. Ellis was adjudged, the man of the match.
