Faisal Hold Kotoko

Kumasi Asante Kotoko were on Wednesday held to a pulsating draw by King Faisal in the eighth week premier league at the Konongo "Waterloo" Park.

Kotoko were determined to snatch the three maximum points and piled pressure on their opponents, right from the onset but the Faisal defence were uncompromising and thwarted all efforts by the Fabulous lads to register an early lead.

The porcupine lads could have taken the lead in the 35th minute when Dan Acquah picked a pass from Douglas Nkrumah, but he delivered a feeble shot with keeper Sam Okyere having no difficulty in dealing with it. Both sides stepped up their game in the second half with Kotoko having the upper hand following the expulsion of Sumaila Yahaya. They strung some good passes together and won most of the 50-50 balls, but the end delivery was poor.

Faisal managed the numerical disadvantage and had a heaven sent opportunity in the dying minutes when Kotoko reject, Kweku Essien dummied two defenders and had only the keeper to beat but surprisingly shot wide.
